Catalogues on the NHS Learning Hub can include a content structure (folders) to organise resources. Content structure can be added by the Learning Hub support team when the catalogue is created, or at any point by the catalogue administrators.
Getting started
The first step is to decide on the structure you require. We recommend using no more than three levels of parent/child folders to keep navigation simple for the user.
Once the catalogue’s content structure has been created, catalogue editors will be able to upload resources into any of the folders or subfolders within the catalogue.
If there are resources already inside the catalogue, by default they will sit underneath the newly created content structure. It is the responsibility of the catalogue administrator to ensure the existing resources are placed in the correct location within the new content structure.
How to create your folders
- Log in and search for your catalogue using the search bar
- As long as you have admin permissions for the catalogue you will have a green <Manage this catalogue> button available
- Select the <Manage this catalogue> button to open the Catalogue Management screen
- Select <Folders> under the catalogue title
- Select the <Edit folder structure> button
- You can now create a folder by selecting the green circled + icon or the Create a folder text
- To create a folder inside an existing folder select that folder to open it and see the green circled + icon and the Create a folder text
- Enter the folder title and a description if you wish
- Scroll down and select the <Save changes> button
- When you have created all the folders you need select <Publish changes> button.
Until you do this the catalogue will be locked for editing to any other admins even if you log out of your account
Final note
New folders are added to the top of the list. If they are in the wrong order there are move up and move down options under the options drop down menu on the right.
