This support article offers guidance on contributing SCORM 1.2 packages to the Learning Hub and the options available to contributors for sharing access to SCORM 1.2 packages via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR). 

By enabling the ESR learning object link feature, contributors are widening the reach of SCORM 1.2 content to users accessing via ESR.

• Select <My contributions> on your menu bar this will open your most recently accessed catalogue
• Select <Contribute a resource here>
• To add a resource to a folder select the folder to open it and then select <Contribute a resource here>
• To add resources to a different catalogue go to <Change catalogue> and select the one you need

Create the title and choose <elearning>

• Choose a title for your resource

  Learning Hub reports and certificates show the session title only. Make sure your title says what subject matter the resource covers. Don't use titles like 'Quiz' or 'Assessment' on their own.

• Select <File>
• Scroll down and select <Next>
• Scroll to Type and <Choose file> then find the file on your drive.
• You will need to re enter your password.
• The upload progress bar will appear and run.
• The kind of file you upload will determine the next steps . . .

• SCORM window size. SCORM content will open in a new window. You can use the default window dimensions or you can set the height and width of the SCORM window by selecting the Advanced option below.
• ESR learning object link. Electronic Staff Record (ESR) users with the Learning Administration User Responsibility Profile (URP) can set up elearning content to play via ESR. Providing a link enables users with that URP to add this resource as a learning object in ESR. Select one of the three options to indicate if / how you would like the ESR link to be displayed to other users in the Learning Hub. Once generated the link remains the same if changes are made to the resource.
• Allow this resource to be downloaded. By default this resource is not available to download until permission is given. If you allow downloads, organisations with their own LMS will be able to run your course on their system.

Guidance for SCORM files

• The elearning content must meet SCORM 1.2 compliance. 
• The elearning content must be in a zip file format  
• The SCORM version (1.2) must be specified in the IMSmanifest file 
• The IMSmanifest file must be in the root of the SCORM zip file  
• The content does not contain flash (.swf) 

To enable learners to play and interact with elearning content via ESR, it is important that local IT departments ensure: 

• Web filters allow communication with domains:  
  content.learninghub.nhs.uk  (40.127.147.46) 
  content-lb.learninghub.nhs.uk  (20.90.154.205) 
• These IP domains/addresses are added to the Trusted Sites Security Zone in Internet Explorer

Completing the upload

• Audience access. You can make the resource available to everyone (General users) or only to the NHS and Social care workforce (Full users)
• Description. 1800 characters appears on the session launch page under the launch button.

• Sensitive content. Tick yes if you want to warn viewers the may find the content offensive or disturbing
• Keywords. Add your keywords or phrases (up to a maximum of 50 characters each) and select <Add> Select the cross to delete then if you want to make changes
• License. see below
• Authors. tick that you are the author or add up to ten other authors, organisation and role are optional. Select <Add> between each author. Authors can be an individual or a team
• Certificate. The Learning Hub can supply a certificate on completion of your resource for your learners. (You can supply an image for your certificate logo when requesting your catalogue). Tick Yes or No to this.

Licensing

When contributing a resource to the Learning Hub it is important that you, as the contributor, understand the licence options available to you. You need to be aware of how your choice of licence affects how learners can interact with, and potentially share, the resource after it is added to the Learning Hub. 

Are you allowed to share this resource? If you are, you can choose from four licences. Each licence offers different levels of restrictions on how the resource can be shared and used.

All Rights Reserved  This licence allows you, as the creator of the resource you are contributing to the Learning Hub, to reserve all rights capable of being reserved under the relevant applicable laws related to the reuse of the materials included in your resource.  However, by sharing your resources on the Learning Hub you are inviting users to access, read, and be educated by the resource you have contributed.  

This licence is available to contributors both to preserve the autonomy of those creating and sharing their resources on the Learning Hub, and to offer a licence option that can be applied to resources created where the contributor is not the sole creator of the materials, meaning they do not have the right to use a more open licence (see Creative Commons options above) for their contribution. 

Publishing

Required entries will have a yellow alert triangle by them. If you see this scroll back up the page and complete what is missing. You can then publish, save or delete your resource
