NHS England (NHSE) provides access to two national, complementary learning platforms for the health and care workforce: the elfh Hub and the Learning Hub.

The elfh Hub

elearning for healthcare works in partnership with the NHS and professional bodies to support patient care by providing e-learning to educate and train the health and care workforce. All content is nationally quality assured.

The e-learning programmes are developed and delivered in partnership with professional bodies, including Royal Colleges and associations, NHS organisations, charities and other health and care organisations. The programmes cover subjects from audiology to anaesthesia, dentistry to dermatology, emergency medicine to end of life care, primary care to prescribing, safeguarding children to statutory and mandatory training.

All elfh programmes are available via the elfh Hub, with most also being available via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR). elfh programmes are also available internationally via eIntegrity.

The Learning Hub

The Learning Hub is a digital platform that provides easy access to a wide range of education and training resources for the health and care workforce.

Users can contribute digital resources (including e-learning, video, audio, images, documents, web links, articles etc.) and search and access the variety of learning resources that have been contributed by organisations and the health and care workforce. In the future, the Learning Hub will also encourage discussions to take place around the learning resources and networks to form around areas of shared interest to maximise the opportunities for collaboration and realise the potential of the resources.

The Learning Hub is designed based on users’ needs and developed using an agile, iterative approach; testing ideas with users and using their feedback to learn and improve. More features will continue to be added during the public Beta phase to provide a comprehensive learning experience for users.
